I'm incredibly honoured and excited to share some wonderful news with all of you. My business, Flower in the Wind, and my personal journey were recently featured in a beautiful article by Alberta Native News.
This feature is so much more than just a news story to me. It's a validation of a journey that has been filled with both incredible challenges and profound triumphs. It’s a testament to the power of resilience and the belief that it’s never too late to start over.
The article delves into my story, from my Blackfoot-Metis heritage, which is the very root of my practice, to the decision I made at 58 to go back to school and become a therapist. It explores how these lived experiences have shaped the way I approach healing and why I believe in a culturally informed, heartfelt practice.
The journalist, Laura Mushumanski, did an amazing job of capturing the deep meaning behind our name, "Flower in the Wind." She beautifully explained how it symbolizes the strength of a flower that must push through soil and rocks to reach the sun, yet still carries its beauty even when the wind blows. It's a metaphor that has guided my life and my work.
Why this article is so meaningful to me
I hope this article can be a source of inspiration for anyone who feels like they’re in a place of struggle, or who thinks they've missed their chance to pursue a passion. My journey is proof that you can change your life and that your past is not a limitation, but a source of unique strength and wisdom.
At Flower in the Wind Therapy, we believe that you are the expert on your own healing journey. We're simply here to walk beside you and provide the tools to help you along the way. This feature is a great opportunity for me to thank the community that has supported me and to welcome new people into our space.
I'm truly grateful to Alberta Native News for giving my story a platform and helping to spread the message that hope is always possible.
